How to keep going when it all goes wrong

A moment of truth...

Sometimes you’ll spend ages creating a cool, personalized free bonus for a client…

…and you won’t get a response back from them.

Keep going anyway.

Sometimes you’ll submit guest blog posts you think are the bomb and could totally help people all over the world…

…and no one wants them.

Keep going anyway.

Sometimes you’ll set up a program that you know it works - you’ve tried and tested it and seen amazing results…

…and someone will do hardly any of it and then complain about it.

Keep going anyway.

Sometimes a friend will offer to help you with your project and seem super interested…

…but never get back to you on it.

Keep going anyway.

Sometimes you’ll write a social media post you think is amazing and helpful…

…and it will get zero likes or comments.

Keep going anyway.

Sometimes you’ll want to quit, and it will all seem pointless, and you’ll have no idea what you’re doing or where to go next.

Keep going anyway!

Sometimes you’ll take on a minimum wage job to support you while you set up your business, and that job will make you feel worthless ;)

Keep going anyway.

One time you’ll buy tickets to a conference you’ve wanted to go to for years…

…and health issues will mean that you can’t attend.

Don’t give up, just yet.

Keep going.

In case you hadn’t guessed, the above are all examples from my own life.

I wanted to share them with you, so you know it’s not all rainbows and high fives (although I do love a good strong high five ;)

I have struggles, and lows, and ups and downs.

And moments of: Why the hell am I doing this?!

But the thing is, my business is important to me.

Writing blog posts makes me feel alive.

Working with my clients makes me amazed and grateful to be paid to do what I do.

So I’m going to keep going.

And I suggest – if your project really means something to you – that you do the same.

That book you’re writing.

That race you’re running.

The project you’re starting.

The business you’re setting up.

That skill you’re trying to learn.

That habit you’re trying to instill.

Keep going.

In spite of the doubt, fear, stress, and uncertainty…

Keep going, anyway.

Keep going, my friend.

If I can, you can too :)

With love, and determined grimaces!

Claire

Oh goodness, you have had some valleys. Here's an Internet high 5 because you kept on going. I'm glad you did because your posts are always so encouraging.

This is the 4th week of January as I type this. It's also been my most productive novel-writing week so far this year and better than all 52 of last year's weeks. I'm going to keep on going, too!

Thanks Priscilla! Haha - yes, I think that valleys and mountains are all part of it when you're doing something bigger than yourself. I wouldn't change any of those experiences either!

GREAT to hear you had a productive writing week - awesome! And you've already blitzed all of last year's efforts... and it's only Jan! Imagine how the rest of the year could pan out! I'm glad you're going to keep on going too :)
