Is it worth your time?

Last week, I found some candles I'd hardly used (and if that isn’t a catchy opener, I don’t know what is!)

Anyway... I thought I’d sell the candles on Craigslist.
 
I laid them out nicely, took a few pictures, and then realized...
 
It was NOT worth my time to do this.
 
I would likely get ten bucks. Maybe twenty.
 
And I don’t mean my time is more valuable than anyone else’s.
 
Just there were so many other things I could be spending my time on, that would be more worthwhile.
 
So, a question to ask yourself, every now and then:
 
Is it worth my time to do this?

• Is it worth my time to look up my ex on Facebook? Probably not.
  
  
• Is it worth my time to email that blogger I totally love? Absolutely! Even if it doesn’t come to anything.
  
  
• Is it worth my time to spend ten minutes laughing and rolling around on the floor with my son? Always.
  
  
• Is it worth my time to watch TV, if I’m tired and need a pick-me-up? Yes, sometimes it is.

 
Give it a go.

Here's one for starters: Is it worth your time to read this email?
 
(If no - head off now and do something else... something more worthwhile to you!
 
If yes - fantastic! Keep reading!)
 
Because we only have so many hours in the day, and if we're doing things we really WANT to be doing, we'll feel much better.
 
Sounds obvious, I know.
 
But sometimes we need that reminder ;)
 
So, is it worth your time to be checking your emails right now... or is there something more worthwhile you could be doing?
 
And remember: resting and relaxing are a worthwhile way to spend your time (and if that involves social media, or TV, or video games, that’s totally fine).
 
Just make sure you’re not doing them out of habit... mindlessly.
 
And one final question: Is it worth our time to go after our goals and dreams? Hell yes!
