Today I want to share a simple exercise to help you feel good. A friend told me about it, and I think we can all benefit from it. What is it?
Well, when you have good days (and it’s okay that not every day is amazing), make a note at the end of the day on why it was good. What made it good? You don’t need to write much; a few words, if you like. But it’s important to focus on what brings us joy... what makes our days “sparkle”. As an example, I felt pretty darn awesome the other day (yay!) And as I look back... what made it good? Well, I went to a meet-up group with “my tribe” - people I can be myself around. So I wrote on my “what made it good” list:
The next step... Don’t stop there. Keep adding to your list! Note down why, whenever you have a good day. [And if those days aren’t happening too often right now, use the info for learning: for where you are right now, and what you need.] After a while, you’ll have a list of things that make you feel good. And these are likely things you need to have an enriched life. To be fulfilled. To feel good, and be the most “you” you can be. The "youest" of you :) Final step... See how you can add more of these things in! How can you add more connection? More laughter? Or movement? Or perhaps you enjoyed moments of quiet; time to yourself; or not feeling stressed. Whatever it is, we can’t get to where we want to be if we don’t know where that is. So start jotting! The next time you find yourself thinking, “Today was a good day...”, ask yourself: Why was it good? And how can I get more of that in my life? And if you feel like it, get back to me and let me know what a good day involves for you! With love and good vibes :) Claire ❤

I like this idea! It's only a little thing, but when my husband and I crack up at the same joke, I've had a good day. When I worked hard at something and finished it (even if the work wasn't fun), that makes a good day, too.

Hey Priscilla, a belated reply from me to say that I loved your comment! I'm the same too - when my husband and I share a joke or try to out-pun each other, it always brightens my day. And YES to finishing challenging tasks; it feels so good hey! Wishing you a year full of things like that :)
