Busy times... I've been feeling overwhelmed recently. I'm sure many of you know that feeling ;) I have so much to do, and so many to-do lists... it got to the point that even when I did have a few spare minutes, I didn't know where to start. Yikes!
So I did the most basic exercise I could think of; one that I advise my clients on all the time:
It's tough to give things a priority, I know. Often my clients tell me, "But everything is so important!" But we can't do "everything" at the same time. It's impossible. So we have to decide. Don't panic... Good news: often, once you've made the decision, the hard part is over. Then you can focus on your number one priority. Break it down into pieces. Get started. Eat that frog. And when that's done (and not until!), you move to your number two priority. Keep it simple... If you're feeling overwhelmed, think about this: What is the number one thing you must work on next? Be really honest about it. Sometimes it's as simple as "make lunch". Or it might be making a call you've been putting off. Whatever it is: get clear on what needs to be done, right now. (I hear you on the "important but not urgent" stuff you're worried will never get done. Things like working out, seeing friends, or relaxing. But the funny thing is that once you put everything down in a (genuine) priority order, and start working through it, you have more time for the good stuff.) Once more, for emphasis ;)
(And take a breather whenever you need to. There's more to life than to-do lists.) What is YOUR next single step? And the one after that? You got this :) Take this week back for YOU. Do you need a breather... or a concerted work effort... or something else? I have confidence in you, Claire ❤ PS: If you liked this blog post, you might like our Accountability Program, which gets you moving on The Stuff You Need To Do! I think having perfectionist tendencies (like I do) makes it harder to prioritize, but I've been working on that prioritizing thing.:-)

I totally get you, Priscilla. I hear that quite a lot with my clients. Good for you for working on it! There's also SO many things I want to do in the world! ... So I think about what I would say to my son or a small child: "Just take it one step at a time. Enjoy the ride." Something like that! :)
