A quick happiness tip - sending appreciation

One of my clients has been working through a difficult issue this week, and we’ve been messaging back and forth.

We got her to a much better place (hooray!), with action steps to take. Her last message to me simply said:

“I appreciate you.”
These words were like a big hug to me! Isn’t that the most wonderful thing to hear?!

I appreciate you.

Music to my ears. Not that I coach people to receive compliments or pick-me-ups.

But it’s awesome to have recognition, or receive love for who we are.

A simple suggestion for this week...

Tell the people in your life you appreciate them.

You don’t need to say why (but you can if you want).

It will make you and them feel good.

And if it’s said with genuine love, it will probably make their day!

If you don’t want to do that (and it won’t be right for everyone), jot down a few ideas on who you appreciate – and why.

It’s a great way to figure out what’s important to you, and what your values are.

My examples...

  • I appreciate my clients who share so openly and with rawness (honesty and vulnerability are huge for me).

  • I appreciate people who share their work as their true selves, like Soolooka and Adam J. Kurtz

  • I appreciate my good friends, who carry me through the bad times.

  • I appreciate difficult family members who have taught me how I don’t want to act! (growth and learning are super important to me)

It sounds cheesy, but it’s one way to get clear on what you value, and see who's important in your life.

Who is on your list? I'd love to hear!

Who could you send some appreciation to today, either verbally or in your heart?

Appreciating you, dear reader - wherever you are in the world :)

I appreciate my sweet husband who's been working from home during this pandemic. He misses his coworkers, but he's soldiering on without complaint.

Ah, I love this, Priscilla! That's so wonderful. Well done to your husband - and good for you for appreciating him! :)
