We’ve had snow here this week, which has been really pretty.
I went out walking with my son today, and held his hand to make sure he didn’t slip over, as it was icy in places. And as we came to a patch of ice on the path, I deliberately walked on the safe, non-icy part.

My two-year-old has recently got into doing jigsaw puzzles... he loves them!
I had to help him at first, but now he can do a few (small) puzzles on his own. Every now and then, however, he'll struggle to fit a piece in, and he has a big old temper tantrum. I haven't posted for a week or two. To be honest, I've been struggling with what to say. My creativity has really dried up.
The leader of a Facebook group I'm in asked recently:
“What are you looking forward to next week?” We all know that things are weird right now... I don’t need to tell you that!
It’s easy to feel down with everything that’s going on around us – especially when most of us can’t see friends and family in person. So I thought I’d share tools I’ve been using to pick myself up, while my usual methods of cheering myself up are off limits. This is a strange time right now... one of those possibly once-in-a-lifetime moments where we’re all going through the same thing.
So, an important message: hang in there, and don’t lose faith. Today I want to talk about adjusting to our new reality. There’s a lot of fear and panic in the world right now, which I understand. I’m a pretty optimistic person, but even I’ve found myself dwelling on the future and feeling confused and down about things from time to time. So I wanted to share a guide to surviving tough times... for when things feel confusing and out of our control, or when we’re not sure what will happen next. Today I want to share about my business journey. Specifically, I want to show you how long things can take. Because we massively underestimate this. I know so many people who give up on their dreams because it’s taking longer than they think. A spot of reflection...
Last year was tough for me, in a number of ways. I’m not going to talk about everything that went on; perhaps I’ll cover it in a future post - and some of it I’ve mentioned already. A friend of mine back home is going through a really tough time right now.
Like, horrific. And as I live abroad, I haven't been able to do much to support her. |
