A spot of reflection...
Last year was tough for me, in a number of ways.
I’m not going to talk about everything that went on; perhaps I’ll cover it in a future post - and some of it I’ve mentioned already.
But there’s something I want to remind you of today:
We ALL have tough times.
Sometimes we have tough years (eesh!)
We all go through ups and downs.
There is no perfect life, where everything goes smoothly all the time, and we’re “#winning” 24/7. (Oh - apart from on Instagram ;)
Instead, there are peaks and troughs.
Bumps and upsets.
Moments of amazement, and times when you feel really shit.
This, for me, is life.
Taking my own advice... :)
Last year, I didn’t progress in my business as much as I wanted to – I set myself some exciting goals, but didn’t reach them all.
So I had to remind myself that last year was tricky. I was going through a lot.
But it doesn’t mean that this year will be tough.
(In fact, I’m determined that 2020 will be much better - and it’s working out very well so far, woo!)
It doesn’t mean that things will always be this way.
It just means that right now, I’m emerging from a tough year.
So it’s time for me to plan, reflect, and reset.
Sometimes we forget the long-term... the bigger picture.
Life isn’t all about moving upwards and onwards, year after year.
Some months, we flounder.
Some months, we take too much on.
It’s okay to have blips, and it’s okay not to be happy all the time.
Life is about sadness, and joy, and wonder, and friendship, and loss, and rebirth, and so many other things.
So I’m not aiming to be happy all the time:
What are you aiming for?
With hugs and high fives,
